Members of the dittibags team will volunteer on Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Tennies, Tuxes, & T-Shirts: Shoot For A Cure evening of fun, sponsored by the American Diabetes Association. The main event, held at Quicken Loans Arena, includes cocktails, celebrity gaming, live and silent auctions and the launch of the ADA Circle of Hospitals.

We have donated several dittibags for the silent auction and are so proud to be part of this wonderful fundraiser.

Lake/Geauga/Ashtabula County Women’s Journal

Dittibags is proud to announce our bi-monthly adverts in the Lake/Geauga/Ashtabula County Women’s Journal. Each issue has a theme to highlight and raise awareness regarding topics that effect women. Their slogan is “Educate, Energize, Empower”. I appeared on the front cover of the August/Sept. 2009 issue titled “Women You Should Know”. As of January, we’ve appeared in (6) publications and we will also be in the February/March 2010 issue which focuses on “connections”. Specifically, the connections between women, their inner selves, their friends, and family, and finally, their business associates and customers. We are all part of the circle of life and can have a very positive impact on eachother’s lives.

2009 ADA Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes

Team dittibags participated in the ADA Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes in Cleveland, OH on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009. This campaign is extremely important in supporting the American Diabetes Association to provide community-based education programs, protect the rights of people with diabetes and fund critical research for a cure.

Friends and family joined together for vigorous walk around Cleveland, taking in the sites and raising money for ADA. Two of my best friends are with me in the pictures below.

2009 Cleveland Women’s Show

Dittibags was a proud exhibitor at the 2009 Cleveland Women’s Show held on Friday, Sept. 11th through Sunday, Sept. 13th at the International Exposition (I-X) Center in Cleveland, OH. Many attendees took this opportunity to buy dittibags directly. We had lots of friends and family helping us at this event and and I even celebrated my birthday at the show!

Dittibags is proud to announce our first Advert in the July 2009 USA Today. This special edition of USA Today will be distributed in Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, and New York and the dittibags Advert can be found in the Diabetes insert on page 13. We couldn’t be more excited about the national exposure and the chance to educate others on one of “the world’s most common chronic diseases.”

Diabetes Expo at Navy Pier in Chicago, IL

On April 25, 2009, dittibags was proud to be an exhibitor at the Diabetes Expo in Chicago, IL. This expo was said to be “the largest interactive one-stop shopping EXPO on everything about diabetes and healthy living under one roof.”

It was our first EXPO where we actually sold dittibags directly to our customers. There were over 8,000 attendees and Navy Pier was such an exciting venue.

I was so happy that two of my three daughters were there to help. We had a lot of customers, and it was the first time we accepted credit cards. In the pictures below, you can see my husband, Robert, with our daughters, Ali and Sarah. Ali is holding the “Ali-Oop” dittibag and Sarah is holding the “Sarah Spunda”. Unfortunately, Candy couldn’t join us for this event.

The dittibags company is a family effort, and our family will continue to share the important message of diabetic care.

Divabetic Makeover Your Diabetes - Beachwood, OH

The Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland sponsored a fashion show at the Executive Caterers at Landerhaven in Beachwood, OH on Saturday, October 11, 2008. The Divabetic Makeover Your Diabetes event was amazing. We didn’t expect 700 people to be so excited about learning new ways to manage their diabetes. This event was right up our alley! Max Szadek was a wonderful host and even dragged my mom on stage (she hates speaking in public) to talk about the dittibags and give one away to a special young lady with Type 1 diabetes (just like mom). The excitement in the air was contagious. We had a fabulous time meeting everyone. The one picture we have is from my camera phone so it is very fuzzy. I just had to get a pic of my mom on stage!

ADA Step Out - Cleveland, OH

Not only did dittibags sponsor the American Diabetic Association Step Out Cleveland event on October 4, 2008 in Cleveland, OH…..Team dittibags participated and raised money for the fight against diabetes. It was a beautiful day, and we had many volunteers. My mom’s best friend Kathy, and my sisters and their friends were up bright and early to participate in the event. The ADA organized a fantastic event with the beautiful city of Cleveland as an inspiring backdrop. Thanks for following our adventures!

Our First Diabetic Expo - Pittsburgh, PA

Thanks to everyone who came to see us at our first medical expo in Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008! We were so nervous! It was the first time we had to set up our fantastic booth display. I think my mom and I both talked for 8 hours straight. We loved meeting everyone and getting the chance to share dittibags with the diabetic world. We were so pleased with the great reception we received and took all of your feedback to help move our booming business along. Thanks, again!

I was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes at the age of 43.
In order to effectively manage my diabetic care, I needed several different organizers to hold all of the testing supplies, needles and insulin required each day. Many of the organizer cases available on the market are bland and dreary, and their appearance actually made me self-conscious to use them
in public.

I want my cases to be a reflection of my spirit and courage. I want to let the world know that diabetic care doesn’t have to be boring. I am fun, stylish, and confident, and my diabetic cases should be too.

I hope the vibrant colors and patterns of each dittibag will inspire you to effectively manage your diabetes with pride.
